Birthday Party Planning and Ideas

I immensely enjoy everything about birthday parties. When my boys' birthdays start coming up, I drop everything going on around my life and fully immerse myself into every aspect of the party planning!

The first thing I come up with is the theme of the party. I usually make a mental list of the things my birthday boy is into at that time. I run the list by him, ask him what kind of party he would like to have, and the planning moves on from there (starting with making the invitations).

I try to make most of my decorations to cut back on cost. However, I also hit the party stores and dollar stores and find that sometimes it's cheaper to buy than to make.

The next thing is the food and cake. I love for the food to stay as close as possible to the theme of the party. And even though my boys do not eat cake, I always get a big cake and cupcakes for our guests.

>Lastly, I allow myself to have plenty of time to put everything together. If it's at my house, I begin decorating a few days in advance. But if I am renting out a venue, I always start the night before and pull and pull an all-nighter.
